Current Position:

The 2017 – 2018 school year is my first year as a Woodland Cougar. I am teaching Computer I & II, World History, and Athletics. I am also coaching Football and Track.

Previous Position:

I began my teaching and coaching career at South Beauregard High School, located in Longville, LA in 1987. I then moved to LaGrange Senior High School in Lake Charles, LA from 1991 to 1994. Next I transferred to Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff, LA from 1994 to 2005. Then from 2005 to 2007, I was the Middle School Assistant Principal at KInder Middle School in Kinder, LA. After 20 years in the Public School System, I retired early and was hired at a private school as the Principal of First Baptist Christian Academy. I was the Principal there from 2007 to 2014.

I retired from First Baptist Christian Academy after the 2013 – 2014 school year and tried retirement for about six months and found out that I really wasn’t ready to retire. I had an opportunity to go to work for Northrop-Grumman as a contract employee doing Leadership Development and Process Improvement for 1 ½ years. This was a great opportunity to be able to create a program to teach leadership to senior / upper management and troubleshoot the maintenance floor of the JSTAR program. When the contract with Northrop Grumman expired I went to work at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in the Pathology Lab until being hired to teach and coach at Woodland High School.

Family Information:

In 1978, I married my beautiful wife Beckie.

I have two grown children, Kyle and Kayla. Kyle lives in Fairfax where he is the Pastor of First Osage Baptist Church and is a Math and Science teacher at the Middle School in Ralston and also coaches. He is married to Brooke and they have four boys, Tyler, Colby, Aidan, and Jackson.

Kayla lives in Lake Charles, LA and is married to Shannon. She has two children, Gracie and Ransom and Tinsley is due to arrive the first part of December.

The other member of my family is a miniture Schnauzer named “Chubs”.

Personal Information:

My hobbies include Golf, hunting, fishing, riding my motorcycle, and watching LSU football and baseball.

When not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family and fellowshipping with friends.

Worshipping my Lord and Savior is an intregal part of my everyday life. One of my enjoyments is to lead Men’s Bible Studies at my home. It is a special time of learning, sharing, and growing in the Lord.
